Imposing New Library Building in 1926

An imposing new library building on Pack Square was dedicated July 9, 1926. During construction, the library used space on the corner of Broadway and Walnut Streets. Architect Edward L. Tilton designed a second Renaissance Revival structure of white Georgian marble with low-relief ornament.
