Are you ready for some football?!?
We know we are!
Join us tonight at 6pm in the Buncombe County Special Collections reading room for our first screening of vintage football game review films. Over the past several months, in partnership with BCSC the Asheville City Schools Foundation started the process of digitizing their archive of football game review footage. There are hundreds of hours of high school football action from the past five decades only available on 8mm film or VHS tapes.
Together, with the help of the Friends of Buncombe County Special Collections and folks in our community, we hope to pool our resources to fund the digitization process for these films. Eventually allowing them to be freely available online.
Each film is about 10-15 minutes long. We’ll have snacks, yearbooks available for perusing, and plenty of time for fellowship and reminiscing!
Can’t make it tonight? Mark your calendars for the next two events in the series.
